Precision Frequency Reference Laser Locked to a Molecular Absorption Line

The Wavelength References Clarity Laser family locks laser emissions to molecular absorption lines. The instrument drives a semiconductor laser in a unique configuration that creates superb frequency stability traceable to a physical constant and thus forms a primary frequency standard. There are several configurations:

Clarity Precision Frequency Reference: PFR Series

These low cost benchtop lasers are designed to provide +/- 0.1pm absolute accuracy and stability over long-haul applications at a single wavelength or frequency. Standard wavelengths are 1530 and 1550 nm and other wavelengths are available upon request. Output power is 2mW nominal, single-mode and accepts SCAPC fiber (patchcords available).

Clarity PFR with linewidth narrowing: NLL Series

These lasers deliver all the benefits of the PFR Series lasers and include an additional Linewidth-Narrowing Mode. This mode takes advantage of the internal reference cell’s absorption line to reduce the laser diode’s linewidth. Output fiber is PM, SCAPC, with patchcords available. This laser has two power modes:

  • HP: 25mW nominal output power, <150kHz linewidth. 1530 and 1550nm are standard, other wavelengths available
  • LP: 2mW nominal output power, 50kHz linewidth. 1550nm is only available at this time.

Clarity plus Full C band stabilized laser: CLX Series

Benchtop laser that provides stabilization to any of over 50 absorption lines via a built-in NIST traceable H13C14N reference cell.  In addition, this laser includes tuning to any wavelength in the C band, first calibrating to the internal reference cell and then thermally stabilizing to the desired output wavelength.
